The use of black and white could seem totally anachronistic when it comes to photographing African wildlife as it bursts with color. However, with its monochromatic aspect and its high-contrast rendering, black and white makes it possible to bring out more certain characteristics such as the coat (zebra, cheetah, leopard, giraffe ...) and very raw, wild aspect, almost prehistoric, of certain species (elephants, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, etc.).
It allows another approach to animal photography. A process that involves telling a story, to highlight a subject without the color distraction. Black and white creates unique and timeless images : it purifies and sublimates.
